The University of Girona held its first National Stakeholders Group meeting

05/03/2024

On the 27th of February, the team from the University of Girona held the first online meeting with the Spanish National Stakeholder Group (NSG). The Spanish NSG is composed of:

  • The national trade union UGT represented by Maxi Rica
  • The Ministry of Equality and Feminism of the Government of Catalonia, represented by Núria Vergés and Laia Lopez
  • The federation of business associations of Girona, FOEG, represented by Carme Casadevall

The meeting was moderated by Dr Sara Ayllón Gatnau and PhD candidate Samuel Lado from the University of Girona (UdG).

This encounter was the occasion to present the project and the progress made in the research, in particular the work conducted by Dr Sara Ayllón Gatnau and its team at the University of Girona (UdG). Participants shared interesting ideas and reflections about the everyday life of people being discriminated against in the labour market. These exchanges are very valuable for researchers and for the project and its impact. Methodological questions were addressed and topics such as wage transparency laws were discussed. Participants shared valuable feedback in particular on the importance of assessing the labour market situation per regions instead of per country as context may widely differ from a region to another.

UdG team will meet again in the future with the Spanish NSG to share preliminary results from the research, contributing therefore to the dissemination and impact of the project.
